Remedial Investigation and Feasibility Study Report (2004)

A REVISED RI/FS REPORT IS NOW AVAILABLE: CSMRI Revised RI/FS Report 2004-2007 |
The Colorado School of Mines (the School) completed a remedial investigation and feasibility study (RI/FS) for the CSMRI Site (Site), located at the west end of 12th Street in Golden, Colorado, and issued a proposed remedial action plan (Proposed Plan) on January 21, 2004. The Proposed Plan recommended Alternative 5, the off-Site removal and disposal of contaminated soils. The School then received and considered oral and written public comments on the Proposed Plan. The public comments supported Alternative 5 as the remedial plan for the Site. The School has now selected Alternative 5 as the final remedial action for the Site and documented the remedy selection in a Record of Decision (ROD), which was signed on March 31, 2004. The ROD selects a remedy that is consistent with the Proposed Plan: off-Site disposal of the contaminated soils. The School will implement a remedial plan to remove contaminated soils from the Site for disposal at off-Site disposal facilities.
The ROD, which includes additional information and responses to public comments, is available below:
