Will Research Activities Continue?
Research activities at CSM do not typically require groups of people to come into regular, close contact. Therefore, research faculty and graduate students may be encouraged to continue work on their projects whether or not classes are suspended.
In the event of the closure of classes, campus-wide announcements will be made to keep you informed. The primary mode of communication between the administration and students, faculty, and staff will be via your official email accounts. Please keep your campus email account address current, and in the event of a pandemic, check it regularly for announcements.
Graduate Research Assistants and Graduate Students engaged in active research projects could be placed into awkward positions if class meetings are closed in the event of a pandemic influenza. Graduate Students and RAs should work with their advisors to determine your best course of action. Personal decisions may be required as to whether to continue on-campus research activities during the closure of classes. Those decisions will like require consideration of the number of hours spent performing research, the availability of local housing, and individual needs to tend to family situations.
