Safety and Environment Related Minor Capital Improvements (SERMCI)

SCHEDULE FOR 2007-2008 FISCAL YEAR (APPROXIMATE DATES)

09/28/07	Announcement inviting SERMCI proposals.
11/02/07	Deadline for submittal of proposals to the EHS Department. The EHS Dept. prepares a summary list of proposals received, along with recommendations for funding, and distributes them to the University Safety Committee for review.
11/16/07	EHS recommendations for funding SERMCI proposals are posted on this website.
11/23/07	Deadline for submission of appeals (additional written material or scheduling of a five minute presentation to the University Safety Committee at the 11/28/07 meeting.
11/28/07	The University Safety Committee reviews EHS recommendations, examines any supplementary information, and hears scheduled presentations. The Committee forwards a list of proposals recommended for funding to the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs.
12/19/07	The Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs makes the final decision concerning the funding of projects. The EHS Director informs proposal sponsors of the Vice President’s decision.
01/02/08	The EHS Director begins processing approved projects.
05/15/08	Deadline to implement approved projects unless prior arrangements have been made with the EHS Director for an extension. Projects not implemented by this date are subject to withdrawal of funding.
