Background:
After graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Zoology from the University of Kansas in 1968, I worked in the private sector for 26 years. During that time I worked for chemical manufacturing companies with a variety of responsibilities including research, analytical, production management, safety and regulatory compliance. In 1994 I came to CSM to oversee the setup of the centralized chemical procurement program. Since coming to Mines I have become a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) and received a Masters degree in Environmental Science and Engineering in the spring of 1999.
